Let me try to help out a bit. Networks are set up with 255 addresses within the IP range. For instance within the IP range of 192.168.1 there are addresses that go from 0 to 254. Your router takes .1 or 192.168.1.1 and subsequent devices (computers, xbox, phone) will take up additional addresses and they may not be sequential.
